Plastic Film Recycling
Plastic films, known for their lightweight, flexible, and soft characteristics, require specialized components in Plastic Film Recycling Machines, especially when dealing with contaminated waste plastic films. After the washing process, these films not only retain over 30% moisture but also tend to clump together due to their softness and the added weight of water. This significantly hampers the effectiveness of conventional drying methods, such as traditional dryers or hot air blowers.
To address this issue, Genius Machinery has developed an innovative solution: the Plastic Film Recycling Machine. This cutting-edge technology is specifically designed to tackle the unique drying challenges posed by wet plastic films, efficiently removing moisture and setting a new standard in plastic film recycling efficiency.
Plastic Film Recycling Process
Collection and Sorting:Plastic film is collected and sorted manually or with a guillotine to prepare for processing.
Shredding and Grinding:The sorted plastic film is processed using single-shaft or dual-shaft shredders to break it into smaller pieces. It is then further reduced in size with granulators, making it easier to handle in subsequent steps.
Washing and Drying:The shredded plastic is thoroughly cleaned using plastic washing lines, which include rigid washing lines for solid plastics and film washing lines for flexible materials. Contaminants are removed through processes like friction washers and float-sink tanks. The cleaned plastic is then dried using innovative drying methods developed by Genius Machinery, specifically designed to handle the unique challenges of wet plastic films.
Extrusion and Pelletizing:The clean, dry plastic is fed into extruders where it is melted into a continuous form. Melt filters are employed to remove impurities from the molten plastic, ensuring high-quality output. The molten plastic is then cooled and chopped into uniform pellets using strand pelletizers.
Reprocessing into New Products:These pellets are used to manufacture a variety of new plastic products, such as composite lumber for items like benches, decks, and playground sets, agricultural applications, or further processed into pellets for making plastic containers, crates, pipes, new plastic bags, and pallets.
Common Applications for Recycling Machines
Recycling machines are instrumental in processing various types of plastic waste, including high-density polyethylene (HDPE) and low-density polyethylene (LDPE). These plastics are widely used in numerous industries and can be recycled to create new products.
